George Washington will be coming to the library to speak on the Campaigns of 1776. John Koopman III will do his presentation dressed in the general's uniform, one of the most authentic reproduction made to date of the uniform worn by the General. The uniform, horse tack and other accoutrements were made by the same artisans who produced the new exhibit at the Mount Vernon Museum. He talk will open with a brief trailer from the Mount Vernon film.
John has portrayed General George Washington in many National Parks, State Parks and other historic sites all along the East Coast, as well as appearing in several documentaries in that role. Watch him as General Washington here.
At the end of the presentation there will be a book signing of his latest book George Washington at War - 1776.
