We welcome newborns and infants for our interactive program of rhymes, songs, lap bounces, and books for babies. For babies who are not yet walking and their caregivers.

Meet the Maker with Kim Hoàng Wood at le Bánh Patisserie at their Simsbury location and learn how to make 3 versions of Vietnamese Coffee!  

Bring your baby to our drop-in playgroup which immediately follows our Born to Read program. Stay for bubbles, conversation with other caregivers, and social tummy time.

The program provides background information and policy options for the eight most critical issues facing America each year and serves as the focal text for discussion groups across the country. Topics for discussion this year include:

Get ready for rhymes, shakers, and songs designed for curious toddlers. Focus will be on a familiar structure to each meeting, so little ones can listen, follow directions, and have lots of fun!

Children ages 1-6 and their caregivers are welcome to join us for a mini drop-in craft in the FSPL Program Room. Stay for the full thirty minutes or leave to play in the Children's Room when your child is ready.

Join us for a program of lap bounces, songs with movement, and books designed for older babies who have begun walking up to 24 months. 

Children ages birth-6 and their caregivers are welcome to join us for playtime in the FSPL Program Room. Kids can choose from different free play activities in a fun and relaxed environment. 

The Friday English Conversation Club provides a welcoming atmosphere for English as a second-language speakers to participate in lively back-and-forth conversation. Meet and get to know others who are also adjusting to life in the U.S.

A group for people who are interested in writing. Discussions concerning character, plot, dialogue, etc. In class writing. Please bring a paper notebook, pen or pencil to the meeting.

Took Spanish in high school and want to refresh your language skills? Our lively group meets weekly to speak Spanish and discuss various language customs. New members are always welcome.

Join our newest daytime book club for community and conversation! Hosted by librarians and club members, we'll read books featuring a diversity of authors and experiences. All are welcome!

Our presentation features two contemporary composers from Europe: Frenchman Claude Bolling and John Rutter of England. Claude Bolling was a remarkable composer/jazz pianist born in Cannes in the early 20 th century and passing recently in 2020.

Why is feedback so difficult, and how can we make it easier? The idea is simple: You don't have to choose between being a pushover and a jerk.

School and/or life got you stressed? Join us for our new once-a-month Cookies & Coloring club! Eat cookies, listen to chill music and color. Please email Mary Richardson (mrichardson@simsburylibrary.info) if you have any allergies. 

Game on at the library! Every week, we'll try out a different game. We run the gamut from video games like Mario Kart to board games like Exploding Kittens. For grades 7-12. 

Join us for a Pokémon card swap and share your love of the game with other kids in our community. Children should bring their own cards to trade with or to show off to other children.

Join Mary and Mika for Tween Club where we'll hang out in the Weatogue Room and do something fun. This month we'll be belatedly celebrating Valentine's Day with candy and crafts!

Join us with a joyful heart and in comfortable clothes to engage with your child through breathing exercises, child-focused yoga movement, and fun relaxation. Feel free to bring your own yoga mat.

Join the Teen Advisory Board! We test out programming ideas, take care of some of the community garden beds, and help out around the library. Have your voice heard about what you'd like to see at the library.

Christine Froehlich draws from over 30 years of getting down and dirty in the field of garden design and  maintenance. Her lectures are packed with practical, hands-on advice, tough plants and simple design solutions that everyone can use.
