DESCRIPTION:Meet Jenny Buttafuoco from Connecticut Valley Baskets LLC for 
 a basket-making workshop!Learn the artistry of weaving and create your own
  basket that measures about 4" tall and 6" wide.There is a $5 ma
 terials fee (cash-only) for this class. Please bring this with you on the 
 night of workshop.From Jenny:"The art of basketry first stole my hear
 t in the summer of 2001. At the time it was a new art form for me to explo
 re, one that I quickly came to learn was hard to find. I love the connecti
 on it provides us to the past and how useful, functional and beautiful the
 y are. A well-cared for basket will last for generations.Each piece I weav
 e is woven from scratch. My materials arrive in a minimally processed stat
 e; I dye them by hand and weave them into baskets of various shapes and si
 zes without the use of molds. Although I was taught the very basics long a
 go, the vast majority of my techniques have been self taught by studying v
 arious photographs and baskets in living history museums."
