Please join us for a presentation from Dr. Roger Travis as he discusses the Ancient Olympic games. This one hour talk will discuss the mythic origins and the real history of the Olympics, including the sports they included and their role in creating what we call Ancient Greece.
Dr. Travis is an Associate Professor of Classics in the Department of Literatures, Cultures & Languages of the University of Connecticut. He has published work on Homeric epic, Greek tragedy, Greek historiography, the 19th C. British novel, and video games as learning tools.
