What if success wasn’t defined by what we accumulate, but by what we contribute?

In Contributism – Measure What Matters, entrepreneur, artist, and social enterprise advocate Kate Emery introduces "Contributism"—a term she coined to describe an economic worldview where contribution, rather than extraction, is the true measure of success. Kate shares her journey from founding The Walker Group to launching reSET, the Hartford nonprofit that has helped hundreds of purpose-driven entrepreneurs, and later transforming The Walker Group into Connecticut’s first Perpetual Purpose Trust owned company.

Through real-world stories and practical frameworks, she offers a hopeful alternative to business-as-usual and explores how organizations can redefine value, embed purpose into governance, and build shared prosperity. This is not just theory—it is a working model that shows how we can shift from extracting wealth for the few to building a future that benefits us all.

This talk is for entrepreneurs, business students, nonprofit innovators, changemakers, and anyone who believes capitalism has lost its way and wants to help evolve it.
