The Simsbury Junior Woman's Club is hosting a Pumpkin Carving & Decorating Contest in partnership with the library. Sign up to participate in the contest. Participants will create a carved or decorated (you can use paint, stickers, etc.) pumpkin at home and drop it off at the library on Thursday 10/21 between 3PM and 8:30PM. We'll assign you and your pumpkin a number at dropoff.
On Friday 10/22 between 10AM and 5PM, you can view all of the pumpkins lined up outside on the library's lawn and to vote for your favorite. (You can get your stickers for voting in the Children's Room). Winners in each category (carved and decorated) will receive a gift card to a local business.
If you'd like to take your pumpkin home at the end of the contest, pickups will be at 1PM on Saturday 10/23.
Please note pumpkins will be outside during the day and overnight and will be exposed to the elements and to animals etc. Any pumpkins that are not picked up on Saturday 10/23 will be discarded.
