The Friends of the Simsbury Public Library will host New York Times bestselling author, Paula McLain for their 2022 Annual Spring Author Luncheon. McLain will discuss her latest book, When the Stars Go Dark, a psychological thriller set in 1993 Northern California. 10 years after the release of The Paris Wife (now over 2 million copies in print), McLain who is known for writing historical novels starring strong, real-life women from history has switched genres and written a literary suspense novel featuring a female detective running from her own traumatic past.  Publishers Weekly called it, “*A stunning crime novel…. Fans of literary suspense won’t be able to put this one down.”— Publishers Weekly (starred review).

The luncheon and talk will be held at the Hop Meadow Country Club on 85 Firetown Road in Simsbury.  The cost is $35 per person.  After lunch and her talk, McLain will sign books which will be available for purchase.
