Explore the intersection of science, innovation, and society with our ‘Introduction to Personal Genetics’ program. Technological developments in genetics have enabled people to become more informed healthcare consumers. This program explores applications of genetic technologies, including genetic testing, sequencing, and editing, for health purposes. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the questions, challenges, and benefits of bringing genetic technologies into their lives.

Gillian McNeil is a genetics specialist and public engagement associate for the Personal Genetics Education Project (PGED) at Harvard Medical School. Gillian creates educational products that reach teachers nationwide and facilitates community programs at venues across New England. She is passionate about communicating creatively and ethically about science. Gillian earned her B.S. in molecular biology and M.S. in healthcare genetics from UConn.
