What do you know about the bees in your backyard? Pam Cooper, UConn Home and Garden Education Center and lecturer for the Master Garden program, will present a program on bees that are commonly encountered in the wild and in our backyards. The majority of the bees will be native with a couple of non-native bees that are now established here. We will also look at the native and non-native plants they use as seasonal pollen and nectar sources.

In addition to her work at the UConn Home and Garden Education Center, Pamela has also advised several non-profit groups on which plants are important to include in pollinator gardens. She has a talk scheduled for the Flower and Garden Show in Hartford on February 25 on 'Gardening for Birds and Bees'  along with an online talk with Jane Seymour from the CT DEEP  in March on using native plants for pollinators, presented by the North Central Conservation District.

Space is limited. Masks required. Reservations requested through our website, www.simsburylandtrust.org. Hope to see you there! Co-sponsored the the Simsbury Library and Simsbury Land Trust.
