Program Description

Event Details

Once considered a wasted resource and a hazard in forest landscapes, dead trees and logs are now known to be valuable and essential parts of a healthy forest ecosystem.  Learn how they provide habitat and food sources for many terrestrial and aquatic species, seedbeds for new trees, and a source of water, energy, carbon and nutrients for the entire forest. Join the Simsbury Land Trust and Margery Winters for a talk about the ecological value and life in dead trees!

RSVP's requested through our website, www.simsburylandtrust.org. Masks required and social distance seating  will be available. Co-sponsored by the Simsbury Land Trust and the Simsbury Public Library.
