Event Details
Artist Sarah Schneiderman will lead a workshop on creating art out of trash. The participants will create their own works of art using found objects and non-recyclable trash. Imagery templates will include fish and birds. This workshop is about the process and having fun rather than developing a specific art technique. All materials will be provided.
When Sarah Schneiderman introduces herself as an artist, she is often asked, “What do you paint?” Other than her bathroom walls and ceiling, she hasn’t painted anything in years. She transforms non-recyclable trash into realistic and finely crafted images. Her
work investigates social, environmental, and political issues.
Schneiderman has shown across the United States from Georgia to Washington state and Maine to California. Solo exhibition venues include the District of Columbia, Oregon, and Connecticut. Workshop and demonstration locales include Vermont, Connecticut, and online.
