Program Description

Event Details

Learn nature journaling, the practice that Amy Tan said freed her from can't, don't, and won't. In this meditative class, we will learn to make close observations of what we see and record our findings on the nature journal page, with a special focus on backyard birds. This calming practice is fun, enjoyable, and easy to learn. The smallest and humblest plants and animals can offer amazing beauty, patterns, shapes, details, and designs when you stop to really look. We will talk about using a nature journal to track bird behavior, and if we are lucky, we may spot a few feathered friends. Participants will learn a mindful new way of seeing world around us and the foundation for a regular nature journaling practice. No experience necessary! We may step outside to the trail adjacent to the library if the weather is cooperative, so please dress accordingly.
