Week Calendar

We welcome newborns and infants for our interactive program of rhymes, songs, lap bounces, and books for babies. For babies who are not yet walking and their caregivers.

Bring your baby to our drop-in playgroup which immediately follows our Born to Read program. Stay for bubbles, conversation with other caregivers, and social tummy time.

Get ready for rhymes, shakers, and songs designed for curious toddlers. Focus will be on a familiar structure to each meeting, so little ones can listen, follow directions, and have lots of fun!

Gather round our colorful parachute for interactive rhymes, songs, and games during this structured group play with active caregivers and children.

Join us for a program of lap bounces, songs with movement, and books designed for older babies who have begun walking up to 24 months. 

Hola Bebé is a Spanish language storytime. Speakers of all languages are welcome to join us for stories, songs and rhymes. Whether you already speak Spanish or want to learn something new, this is a fun program for all.

Took Spanish in high school and want to refresh your language skills? Our lively group meets weekly to speak Spanish and discuss various language customs. New members are always welcome.

Join our moderator, Carole Shmurak, for an interesting and lively discussion of the mystery book The Guards by Ken Bruen. All are welcome to attend. Copies of the book will be available for checkout at the Circulation Desk.

We're continuing our Wednesday Walking Club until the snow flies this fall! Meet us on the Library Lawn for an autumnal walk around Town to break up your week.

Join us at the Simsbury Public Library on Sunday, September 10th at 1:30-4:00 pm for a Pet CPR & First Aid Class. This class

Drivers age 50+ will learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate your vehicle more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment.

Game on at the library! Every week, we'll try out a different game. We run the gamut from video games like Mario Kart to board games like Exploding Kittens. For grades 7-12. 

We'll read a story together and then do an art project inspired by the book. This month's activity is based on Mouse Paint by Ellen Walsh. 

Utilizing fabric glue, scissors, and markers, kids will create and customize a cute no-sew monster felt pencil topper. 

Join us at the library to build with LEGOs.

Kids will hand sew their own felt cuddle bear using a needle, thread, and creativity. This is a 2-session project to complete a single bear and children must attend both sessions.

Meet Kristen Skelton of Milo + Molly from Avon, and create either a fabric key wristlet loop or fabric dog collar in class! You will be using a sewing machine and should be comfortable using it to sew a straight line.

Join moderator Jackie Takiff for a lively discussion of this month's book, Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison. All are welcome to attend. Copies of the book will be available for checkout at the Circulation Desk.

Singer Songwriter Marc Berger joins us to kick off our 2023/2-24 Coffeehouse Series! Marc's life has been about pursuing twin passions: creating, recording and performing his original songs and exploring the American West.
