We welcome first time parents or expecting parents (both moms and dads) to join us for information sessions in a small and welcoming group setting. Our instructor, Brynna, is a registered nurse who has 5 years of experience in Neonatal Intensive Care and 2 years of experience in postpartum nursing. She is also a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. Each week Brynna will share information, hands on demonstrations and answer questions on a topic. Topics and instruction can be customized based on the interests of the group that week. Some possible topics may include:

  • What to expect at the hospital
  • Postpartum unit expectations
  • Breastfeeding vs. formula
  • Pumping (also called "triple feeding")
  • Skin to skin
  • So your baby's in the NICU
  • Circumcision
  • Normal baby things (second night syndrome, sleepy first day, poop)
  • Bringing baby home
  • Transitioning to life with baby
  • General baby care (diapers, swaddles, etc)
  • Returning to work
  • Having friends/family visit the baby
  • Managing stress or postpartum anxiety/depression
  • Partner support (how is the non-child bearing parent doing?)
